Clearance: NATO Secret
Location: The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands - (90% off-site, with anticipated on-site attendance at NCIA The Hague or Brussels around 1–2 days per month, subject to agreement with the CTO.)

Duties & Role
• Capture and document the current “as-is” NATO Intelligence Enterprise architecture, including applications, technologies, interfaces, dependencies and standards.
• Develop the “to-be” architecture, covering application, technology, security, integration and data/information architecture.
• Analyse the current architecture to identify gaps, pain points, risks, dependencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop an implementation roadmap outlining the transition from the “as-is” to the “to-be” architecture, including priorities, initiatives, dependencies, phases and milestones.
• Engage with NATO technical SMEs, project managers, enterprise/segment architects and other stakeholders to gather and validate architecture information.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and incorporate feedback into architecture models and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and harmonise technology choices, improve interoperability and maximise reuse of common components.
• Ensure the future architecture supports data-centricity, cloud adoption, scalability, resilience and Zero Trust principles.
• Ensure architecture aligns with relevant NATO STANAGs, open standards and interoperability requirements.
• Produce high-quality architecture reports, models, diagrams, gap analyses and roadmap documentation using agreed NATO tools, methodologies and templates.
• Provide architectural expertise and advice on technological synergies, gaps and opportunities.
• Maintain clear traceability between architecture requirements, design decisions, risks, dependencies and implementation activities.

Requirements
• MSc degree in Computer Science, Software & Systems Engineering or a related field. Alternatively, candidates without a university degree must demonstrate at least 6 years of extensive and progressive relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in Enterprise and/or Solution Architecture.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience developing architectures for NATO and/or defence customers.
• Proven experience using ArchiMate and Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Experience producing and writing large, structured technical architecture documents.
• Strong understanding of application and technology architecture, including systems, interfaces, dependencies and infrastructure.
• Experience working with multinational teams and multiple technical stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse as-is and to-be architectures, identify gaps and develop practical transition roadmaps.
• Fluent in Business English.
• NATO Secret (NS) clearance, valid for the duration of the required access.
